MSI Wind PC with Linux

I was looking for an Internet PC for surfing and email writing which runs under Linux. "Normal" PCs are oversized for this. These demands matched against the MSI Wind PC. Here in Germany the PC is sold as MSI Wind PC 2723.

VMware and max_cstate

I am using VMware on two computers: On my CoreDuo workstation Debian Etch was running with a 2.6.23 Vanilla kernel and VMware Workstation 6.0. And on my Pentium-M Laptop Ubuntu Dapper Drake with VMware Workstation 5 is installed.

Nise3120 as a Router

In May 2008 my old router decided to go to computer heaven. So i needed a new router which is located between DSL and LAN at my home.

I have a DSL connection with 2000 KBit downstream. Experience indicated that a VIA C3 CPU is more than enough for such a bandwidth.
